GM Turbo Diesel 3.3 Bar MAP sensor compatibility question 7 Months, 1 Week ago Karma: 0
I have the new design GM MAP sensor on my V6 (stock 1 bar not in use)and just discovered the aformentioned 3.3 Bar MAP sensor found on the Turbo Diesel. Given it is 3.3 instead of 3 Bar would the added .3 resolution likely cause a problem with tuning. I'm interested because if it would work I could eliminate the first design square sensor I have and use the proper location on the intake manifold of the 3900 V6.

I'd wait for the guys that know forsure to answer. but my thoughts are unless your running a ty with a setup that matches 100% one of the starter bins. your prob going to need to adjust just about every ve, ae,de and timing table anyways. so I wouldn't think it would hurt much.

That's what I'm thinking. It would bias the closed throttle vacuum signal closer to zero, or for example if my closed throttle reading were 30 kpa with the current 3 Bar MAP then the 3.3 Bar should cause it to read 20 kpa or less at closed throttle.

You need to use one of the 3 bar map sensors listed in the FAQ. The 3.3 bar won't work as all the MAP functions would be off.

All the table indexes and Baro, MAP, and boost readings would be off.

It would take a fair amount of table definition rework and a code change for it to work.

Thanks, I'll stick with the current sensor it's not that important to have the plenum appropriate sensor.
